Puppy Purchase Agreement
1 Health Guarantee
1.1 Initial Veterinary Examination
The Buyer agrees to have the Dog examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking possession. If the veterinarian identifies a pre-existing health condition (excluding worms, giardia, coccidia, fleas, or bladder infections, which are common in puppies), the Buyer must notify the Breeder prior to initiating any treatment. The Breeder may:
• Provide a full refund upon return of the Dog to the Breeder within 5days, at the Buyer’s expense, with all veterinary fees incurred prior to return being the Buyer’s responsibility; or
• Reimburse reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price, upon submission of a verified veterinary letter documenting the condition. The Breeder reserves the right to request a second opinion from a veterinarian of their choice, with transportation costs borne by the Buyer
1.2 Two-Year Health Guarantee
The Dog is guaranteed for two (2) years from the date of purchase against con genital defects of the heart, eyes, hips, or elbows resulting in death or severe debilitation, including:
• Hip conformation: Must clear Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
certification as Excellent, Good, or Fair, verified by an orthopedic radiology specialist approved by the Breeder.
• Eyes: Must clear examination by a veterinary ophthalmologist for progressive retinal atrophy.
• Terminal genetic health issues: Any condition requiring euthanasia that cannot be treated.
If such a condition is diagnosed within this period, the Buyer may:
• Return the Dog to the Breeder for a replacement puppy from an upcoming litter or a puppy of equal or lesser value and same sex, with no monetary refund provided, or a refund of half the purchase price if applicable; or
• Keep the Dog, thereby voiding the replacement and health guarantee.
If a more expensive puppy is desired, the Buyer will pay the difference. Return of the original Dog is at the Breeder’s discretion.
The Breeder reserves the right to request a second opinion from their veterinarian, with transportation costs borne by the Buyer. The health guarantee is void if:
• The Dog does not receive regular veterinary care, including vaccinations, worming, and heartworm/tick prevention.
• The Dog is in poor body condition (obese or malnourished).
• The Dog is injured, dies, is bred, or is spayed/neutered prior to18–24months of age.
• The Buyer loses possession of the Dog.

The Buyer agrees to:
• Keep the Dog as a household pet, residing indoors with the Buyer.
• Provide adequate food (premium grade, with no soy or corn), fresh water, shelter, affection, and medical care, including annual health exams, routine vaccinations, heartworm prevention starting at 4 months of age, and monthly administration thereafter.
• Maintain humane care in compliance with all applicable state, county, and municipal laws, ensuring a fully fenced yard or other humane exercise means, and never chaining or leaving the Dog constantly outdoors.
• Ensure the Dog wears a collar with identification tags and/or a microchip and is never permitted to roam unattended.
• Keep the Dog in a healthy, clean condition, including regular bathing, nail trimming, and maintaining appropriate weight.
3 Spay/Neuter and Non-Breeding Agreement
The Dog is not intended for breeding and must be spayed or neutered at 18 months of age. The Buyer acknowledges the limited AKC registration and agrees not to breed the Dog. The Dog may participate in AKC-sanctioned obedience trials, field trials, agility competitions, or other training disciplines.
4 Return and Transfer Policy
If the Buyer can no longer keep or care for the Dog, the Dog must be returned to the Breeder with all AKC papers and medical records. Refunds, if any, will be determined by the Breeder based on the Dog’s health, medical needs, behavior assessment, and rehoming circumstances. The Buyer agrees to:
• Notify the Breeder immediately if the Dog cannot be kept.
• Not sell, transfer, or give the Dog to any individual, retail/wholesale establishment, or research institution.
• Sign necessary papers to return the Breeder as sole owner if the Dog is returned.
The Breeder reserves the right to approve or prohibit any transfer to a third party and retains the right of first refusal at no cost to the Breeder.
5 Additional Obligations
The Buyer agrees to:
• Notify the Breeder of any change in address or phone number.
• Provide photos of the Dog approximately 30 days after purchase and periodically upon Breeder’s request, with clear, high-quality images.
